Nigerian Institute of Architects Calls for Ethical Standards

On September 17, 2026, Mr. Sani Saulawa, President of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), addressed Nigeria's pressing challenges in housing, infrastructure, urbanization, and climate resilience during the 7th Distinguished Lecture Series in Ilorin, Kwara State. He asserted that these issues require more than technical skills; they necessitate organized professional knowledge and ethics to influence policy and development outcomes.

The lecture, titled "Professional Bodies and National Growth and Development – Perspectives and Reflections of an Architect," was delivered by former NIA President Mr. Mohammed Jimoh Faworaja. Saulawa urged professional bodies to reflect on their roles in national progress, questioning their engagement in policy-making and investment structuring.
