Arewa Youth Assembly Denounces Plot Against Tinubu

The Arewa Youth Assembly has publicly condemned an alleged plot against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections. During a press conference in Abuja, spokesperson Mohammed Sanni claimed that certain political actors, specifically naming two southern governors, are attempting to create divisions within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and undermine Tinubu's re-election bid.

The assembly accused Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State of spearheading efforts to remove the chairman of the Progress Governors Forum, which they argue echoes events that contributed to the defeat of former President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 elections. The group asserted that intelligence indicates a desire to destabilize the Progress Governors Forum as a prelude to destroying the APC.

They praised the northern governors for rallying behind Uzodimma and issued a 48-hour ultimatum for an apology to President Tinubu, describing any coup against him as ill-advised.
