Opposition Blamed for Plateau Violence Against Tinubu

Saleh Zazzaga, the chairman of the North Central Progress Congress APC Forum, made a statement available to journalists on Monday, alleging that opposition groups are responsible for the recent bloodshed in Plateau State. He claimed that the violence, which resulted in the deaths of 28 individuals during an attack in Gariya, Angwan Rukuba, within the Jos North Local Government Area, is part of a plot to derail President Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign.

Zazzaga emphasized that the opposition aims to discredit the Plateau State governor and diminish Tinubu's support in the region, particularly as they target six million votes for the upcoming 2027 elections. He pointed out that the ongoing killings in Plateau and Benue states are strategically aimed at reducing Tinubu's vote count in the forthcoming elections, indicating a serious concern over the security situation in the state.
