Oyo APC Defends Tinubu Against Makinde Impeachment Claims

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) issued a statement defending President Bola Tinubu and others against allegations of a conspiracy to impeach Governor Seyi Makinde. Comrade Olawal Sadar, the party's spokesperson, described the impeachment claims as a public secret and a distraction aimed at garnering sympathy for Makinde, who he alleged faces imminent political retirement due to his own ego and naivety.

Sadar further stated that Makinde should have been impeached long ago, citing several cases of alleged abuse of office since his tenure began in May 2019. The APC's statement implied that the governor's recent actions were part of a poorly scripted plan to secure political support and influence future elections, particularly the 2027 general elections.

Additionally, Sadar dismissed the impeachment rumors as false alarms, asserting that no amount of blackmail or propaganda could prevent Makinde's potential impeachment.
