Arewa Traders Train 1,000 on Modern Business Practices

On Thursday, a one-day workshop organized by the Arewa Traders Association of Nigeria took place in Abuja, training 1,000 members on modern business practices. The event featured traders, financial experts, and academics discussing emerging business trends and digital commerce.

Alhaji Adamu Hassan Ibrahim, the association’s Chairman, stated that the training aimed to equip traders with essential skills to remain competitive in a changing economy. He emphasized the importance of teaching traders modern strategies to maximize profits.

Participants included chairmen and secretaries from the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory, who are expected to share the knowledge gained with their members. Ibrahim urged the government to facilitate access to soft loans for small and medium-scale traders.

Representatives from Taj Bank, Jaiz Bank, and Jaiz Takaful discussed the benefits of banking services, particularly non-interest financial products. Abba Muhammad Bello, the association’s Kano State Coordinator, called for simplified loan requirements to enhance credit access for traders, especially in rural areas.
