NURTW Official Toba Ajiboy Laid to Rest After Shooting

Toba Ajiboy, known as Toba Ijaya, was a significant figure in the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). He was laid to rest on Tuesday in Ketu, Lagos, following his death from gunshot injuries sustained during an attack by unidentified gunmen in the Fadeyi area on Sunday evening.

A video circulating on social media depicted a large gathering of mourners paying their last respects to Ajiboy. He was reportedly visiting a childhood friend when the attack occurred, and he was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Three occupants of Ajiboy's vehicle also sustained serious gunshot wounds and remain hospitalized. The Lagos State Police Command has initiated a manhunt for the assailants, with Public Relations Officer Abimbola Adebisi confirming that investigations are ongoing.

Mustapha Adekunle, the chairman of the Lagos State NURTW, expressed deep sorrow over Ajiboy's death, describing him as a loyal ally and a steadfast friend.
