Argentine Footballer Luca Trejo Loses Family in Earthquake

Argentine footballer Luca Trejo, who plays for Club Sport Marítimo La Guaira, suffered an irreparable loss as his wife, Yanina Trejo, and their two children, Aaron and Ainhoa, died in a powerful earthquake that struck Venezuela. The earthquake, measuring between 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude, occurred on a Wednesday evening while Trejo was at a training camp in Caracas.

Upon learning of the disaster, Trejo immediately returned to La Guaira, the state most affected by the earthquake. His brother-in-law, Ricardo Ardil, reported that they found nothing but rubble where their home once stood.

The Venezuelan authorities indicated that nearly 1,500 people were unaccounted for following the disaster. Club Sport Marítimo La Guaira expressed deep condolences on social media, sharing a photo of Trejo's family.

The earthquake also impacted the Venezuelan football community, claiming the lives of young players, including 18-year-old Vítor Palacio and Razan Sijaa.
