Nigerian Army, Air Force Push for Media Collaboration

The Nigerian Army and Nigerian Air Force are seeking to strengthen media partnerships to combat misinformation and enhance national security. This call was made during a courtesy visit by the Defence Correspondents Association of Nigeria to the Nigerian Army headquarters in Abuja.

Mr. Odita Sundai, the president of the association, congratulated Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodam and Colonel Appolonia Anel on their appointments.

They discussed the importance of ethical journalism and the need for deeper collaboration, including regular media briefings to improve access to verified information. Air Commodore Ejodam stressed the importance of public confidence in military communications, lamenting that despite efforts to provide accurate information, public doubt persists.

Colonel Anel urged Nigerians to appreciate the sacrifices of troops deployed across various operations and warned against the spread of misinformation that undermines morale. The military officials reaffirmed their commitment to providing timely and accurate information to foster public understanding of military operations.
