Nigerian Army Urges Media Accuracy for National Security

During the combined first and second quarter Nigerian Army Public Relations Media Workshop 2026 held on Wednesday in Abuja, Col. Appolonia Anel, the Army's Director of Public Relations, called on media practitioners to maintain accuracy and uphold ethical standards in their reporting.

Anel stressed that intelligence is not a luxury but a strategic necessity for national security. The workshop focused on the critical role of media in shaping national security outcomes and highlighted the need for collaboration among military, security agencies, and the media.

Anel discussed the growing relevance of artificial intelligence (AI) in media operations and its potential to improve information management and audience analysis in a rapidly digitizing environment.
