Nigerian Army Arrests Soldier for Gunrunning in Borno, Rescues Kidnap Victims

The Nigerian Army arrested Lance Cpl Saifullahi Garba for alleged gunrunning in Borno State. During recent operations, troops rescued eight kidnap victims and recovered arms and ammunition.

The soldier was apprehended in Marte Local Government Area with 711 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, troops intercepted terrorist logistics movements in Bama, recovering more ammunition and neutralizing a terrorist.

In separate operations in Borno and Yobe, two rifles, 11 rounds of ammunition, and cattle were recovered. The Army also rescued three kidnap victims in Nassarawa and five others earlier.

Operation Whirl Stroke in Taraba led to the arrest of 10 armed suspects.
