Nigerian Army Neutralizes 45 Bandits in Katsina Clash

On March 6, 2026, a Nigerian Army operation in Katsina State led to the neutralization of 45 bandits following a fierce gun battle. The clash occurred when troops stationed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Dan Ali engaged heavily armed bandits who were moving towards Musawa LGA.

Earlier, on March 5, bandits had attacked Alhazawa Village in Musawa LGA, attempting to rustle cattle, which resulted in the death of four assailants. The bandits regrouped and returned in larger numbers for a revenge mission.

During the ensuing battle, the Nigerian Army successfully neutralized 45 bandits, including Adamu Alieru, a notorious bandit leader. However, the operation came at a high cost, with Captain Paul Hassan and two soldiers losing their lives.

Dr. Nasir Mua Zu, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, commended the bravery of the troops and extended condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers.
