Nigerian Army Dismantles IPOB Shrine, Arrests Three Suspects

On March 11, 2026, the Nigerian Army, under the command of Lt. Col. Olabisi Ayeni, conducted an operation in Olokoro, Abia State, targeting a shrine associated with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN). The operation aimed to dismantle criminal hideouts linked to kidnapping and ritual activities.

During the raid, three suspects were arrested, who are believed to be involved in these illicit activities. The Army's operation was part of a broader initiative to restore security in the southeastern region of Nigeria.

Items recovered included identification cards, ATM cards, an empty ammunition case, a motorcycle, and other materials believed to be used in criminal activities. Lt. Col. Ayeni emphasized the importance of public cooperation in providing credible information to security agencies to help dismantle criminal networks threatening peace and security in Abia State and the surrounding areas.
