Nigerian Army Dismantles IPOB Camps in Anambra State

On March 3-4, 2026, the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with other security agencies and supported by the Nigerian Air Force, conducted operations in Anambra State targeting camps associated with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN). The operations took place in the Gbadoanya and Orsumoghu areas of Ihiala Local Government.

Troops successfully destroyed multiple insurgent hideouts and recovered various weapons, including pump-action guns, locally made Dane guns, and assorted ammunition. Additionally, they dismantled an improvised explosive device facility, recovering several welding and drilling machines, car batteries, and components for local firearms.

The operations aimed to restore peace and security in the region, which has seen intensified military action against IPOB and ESN in recent months.
