Army Rescues Three Victims in Enugu Kidnapping Attempt

On February 25, 2026, troops from the Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Stroke, under the command of Lieutenant Ahmad Zubairu, thwarted a kidnapping attempt along the Enugu-Otukpo road, rescuing three victims. The operation was initiated following credible intelligence received during a night patrol.

The troops seized an 18-seater vehicle, registered as Benu link TYK 221 YK, which was suspected to be used in the kidnapping. Although no direct contact was made during the pursuit, the troops managed to recover a mobile phone believed to belong to the kidnappers.

The operation was characterized by the troops' resilience and efficiency, preventing a significant security breach. Motorists have been advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, particularly in areas with unusual vehicular absence.

This operation follows a recent successful mission where troops rescued five victims from a similar attack along the 9th Mile Axis in Enugu.
