Enugu Security Forces Rescue Kidnap Victim in Operation

On a recent operation, the Enugu State Police Command, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and local vigilante groups, successfully rescued a female kidnapping victim in the Udenu Local Government Area. The operation, directed by CP Mamman Giwa, was initiated following credible intelligence received on Friday afternoon regarding the abduction in the Ezimo community.

Upon mobilization, the joint security team engaged the suspects in a fierce gun duel in the Agu Orba Forest. The operation resulted in the neutralization of some suspects, while others fled with varying degrees of gunshot wounds.

The victim was rescued unharmed and subsequently reunited with her family. Items recovered from the scene included five rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition, a machete, a dagger, four mobile phones, a torchlight, a power bank, and assorted food items, totaling 51,700 Naira.

SP Daniel Ndukwe commended the bravery and synergy of the security forces and urged the public to provide timely information to aid in the arrest of fleeing suspects.
