Nigerian Army Graduates 1,178 Troops in Kachia

On Friday, the Nigerian Army graduated 1,178 troops from the 10th batch of its Advanced Infantry Training Programme at the Nigerian Army Training Centre in Kachia, Kaduna State, under Exercise Restore Hope X. Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Waidi Shaibu, stated that the training aimed to improve combat proficiency and prepare soldiers for modern military operations.

He noted that the programme is a crucial part of the Army's post-basic training framework, designed to instill warrior ethos and sharpen combat skills. The graduation coincided with the Army's ongoing force expansion and capability enhancement, following a restructuring approved by President Bola Tinubu.

Many graduates will serve in newly established formations and units. Shaibu urged the troops to demonstrate professionalism and sound judgment, remain adaptable, and uphold the rule of law.

Maj-Gen Valentine Okoro, Chief of Training (Army), highlighted that the six-month training equips troops with essential skills for contemporary military environments, previously conducted by foreign partners but now led by indigenous instructors.
