Nigerian Army Graduates 1,182 Special Forces Troops

The Nigerian Army graduated 1,182 Special Forces troops under Exercise Restore Hope X at the Nigerian Army Training Centre (NATC) in Kachia. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu stated that the training aimed to improve combat proficiency and prepare troops for contemporary military operations.

He noted that the advanced infantry training program is a key part of the Nigerian Army's post-basic training framework, designed to instill warrior ethos and sharpen combat skills to confront emerging security threats. The graduation coincided with the Nigerian Army's force expansion and capability enhancement, following a restructuring approved by President Bola Tinubu, which led to the establishment of additional divisions and units.

Many graduates will serve in these new formations. Shaibu urged the troops to demonstrate professionalism and commitment in their missions.

Major General Valentine Okoro, Chief of Training (Army), highlighted that the six-month exercise equipped the troops with essential skills for modern military environments, including tactical operations and counter-insurgency.
