Nigerian Army Launches 250+ Community Projects Nationwide

The Nigerian Army inaugurated over 250 special intervention projects across six geopolitical zones as part of activities marking the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2026. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt. Gen. Waibi Shaibu reaffirmed the Army's commitment to strengthening civil-military relations and supporting national development.

During the inauguration, which included the renovation of a community secondary school in Lussu Khana, Rivers State, Shaibu highlighted the Army's non-kinetic approach to addressing security challenges through infrastructure development. The projects, which also included the construction and rehabilitation of hospitals, schools, community town halls, roads, and the provision of solar power and ICT facilities, are designed to complement government efforts in improving living conditions.

Shaibu acknowledged the support of President Bola Tinubu and emphasized the importance of community ownership in maintaining these facilities. The Army aims to continue its humanitarian and community development programs despite contemporary security threats.
