Nigerian Military Enhances Community Projects Nationwide

The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) has intensified its Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) activities nationwide, focusing on community development projects, peace-building initiatives, and public health interventions. Major General Micheal Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed these efforts during a Defence Headquarters briefing on military operations.

These initiatives align with directives from Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede to enhance community engagement. Notably, troops of Operation DELTA SAFE facilitated mediation meetings on July 17 and 24 between Sterling Exploration and Energy Production Company (SEEPCO) and host communities in Delta State to resolve disputes.

Additionally, Operation WHIRL STROKE organized peace meetings in Benue and Nasarawa states to address communal tensions. In the North-East, Operation HADIN KAI supported public health interventions during a cholera outbreak in Borno State, collaborating with local health authorities and the Nigerian Bar Association for awareness campaigns.

The AFN also completed various community development projects across different geopolitical zones to improve living conditions and foster military-civilian relations.
