Nigerian Army Neutralizes Three Terrorists in Katsina

On Friday night, May 9, 2026, troops from the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army conducted an ambush operation in the Dutsin Ma Local Government Area of Katsina State, resulting in the neutralization of three suspected terrorists. The operation took place along the Turar Kitibawa Kuka Mai Damusa road, with the troops deployed from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Fudma.

According to a statement issued by Captain Abayomi Adisa, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 17 Brigade, the ambush occurred at approximately 2140 hours. The terrorists attempted to flee but were confronted by the troops, leading to the casualties.

The operation yielded the recovery of three AK-47 rifles, loaded magazines, three cutlasses, assorted charms, and a cash sum of N3,500. The Nigerian Army continues to sustain offensive operations against criminal elements in the area and urges residents to provide credible intelligence to support ongoing efforts to restore peace in Katsina State.
