Nigerian Army Achieves Milestones in Insecurity Fight

On Sunday, during an interdenominational church service marking the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2026, Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen.

Waidi Shaibu reported notable achievements in the fight against insecurity across Nigeria. He acknowledged the complex security challenges faced by the army, including terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, oil theft, and other criminal activities threatening national peace and stability.

Despite these challenges, the Nigerian Army remains actively engaged in operations aimed at combating these threats. Maj.

Gen. William Maxwel Dangana noted the army's successes in neutralizing criminal elements and restoring normalcy in affected communities.

Anthoni Maimagani, the Director of Chaplaincy, emphasized the divine calling of military service and urged personnel to uphold the dignity of every Nigerian. The Nigerian Army, celebrating 163 years of service, continues to adapt to emerging security challenges while remaining committed to defending Nigeria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
