Nigerian Army Recovers 74 Terrorist Bodies in Operations

The Nigerian Army, under the direction of Maj Gen Michael Onoja, reported the recovery of 74 terrorist bodies following intensified military operations in the North East from March 13 to March 19. The operations were characterized by complex drone-assisted attacks that led to the elimination of several terrorists and the thwarting of major assaults in areas such as Mallam Fatori in Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State.

Troops successfully repelled multiple infiltration attempts across Bama, Gujba, and Kaga Local Government Areas. The operations resulted in the recovery of significant arms, including 38 AK-47 rifles, three PKT machine guns, and RPG tubes.

Additionally, the military arrested a logistics supplier and intercepted a suspected gunrunner in Taraba, recovering ammunition and cash. The operations also aimed to disrupt illegal mining activities and oil theft in the Niger Delta, leading to multiple arrests and the dismantling of illegal refining sites.
