Nigerian Army's 18 Brigade Rescues 22 Kidnapped Victims

On September 15, troops from the Nigerian Army's 18 Brigade, in collaboration with personnel from the 45 Battalion, successfully rescued 22 kidnapped victims in Muchiya village, located in the Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State. The rescue operation was initiated after credible intelligence indicated a gathering of terrorists in the area.

Upon sighting the advancing troops, the terrorists fled into the nearby forest. The determined troops pursued the fleeing assailants along their escape routes, resulting in the recovery of three motorcycles and other items left behind.

All rescued victims were handed over to the leadership of the Muchiya community and subsequently reunited with their families. One victim, Alhaji Hassan, who sustained injuries during captivity, was evacuated to a clinic and is currently receiving treatment.

The Commander of the 18 Brigade praised the troops for their resilience and urged them to maintain their efforts in ensuring the safety of the local communities.
