Nigerian Army Rescues 31 Kidnap Victims in Zamfara

The Nigerian Army successfully rescued 31 kidnap victims and neutralized five terrorists during coordinated military operations in Zamfara and Katsina states. The operations, part of "Operation Fansan Yamma," were conducted under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, who is the Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army.

The rescue occurred around Bagega in the Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State, where the victims had been held captive for several weeks. The operation involved precise air interdiction followed by a ground assault on terrorist enclaves located in the west Bagega forest.

The rescued victims received medical attention and were subsequently reunited with their families. Additionally, troops engaged terrorists along the Maradun-Gidan Dan Jaja axis, resulting in the neutralization of two terrorists and the destruction of several camps.

In Katsina State, troops intercepted suspected terrorists, leading to a fierce gun battle that resulted in the deaths of three terrorists and the recovery of motorcycles and ammunition.
