Nigerian Army Rescues Six Kidnap Victims in Katsina

The Nigerian Army successfully rescued six kidnap victims, comprising four women and two children, who were abandoned by fleeing terrorists in Katsina State. This operation occurred during a clearance operation carried out by troops from the 17 Brigade, Sector 2, as part of the ongoing military offensive known as Operation Fansan Yamma.

The victims, identified as Umaima Isiaku (30), Amina Isiaku (25), Fatima Saidu (22), Huzaima Nasiru (16), Usman Surajo (18 months), and Dauda Isiaku, had been held captive for several months after being abducted by armed terrorists on March 11, 2026, along the Tsafe-Bilbi road in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The victims reported that their captors fled in panic as military operations intensified in the area.

Following their rescue, the victims are receiving medical attention and humanitarian support, and efforts are underway to reunite them with their families.
