Troops Neutralize Bandits, Rescue Kidnap Victims in Nigeria

On June 21, 2023, Nigerian military troops engaged in a significant operation against bandits in Sokoto State, specifically in Tureta, where they disrupted a terrorist infiltration attempt. Acting on credible intelligence, the troops mobilized swiftly, forcing the terrorists to abandon their mission.

Following the ambush, the troops pursued the fleeing suspects to Sulubawa Gidan Kare village, where they encountered resistance but ultimately overpowered the attackers, resulting in the rescue of abducted victims and the recovery of rustled cattle. On June 22, the military conducted an intelligence-driven raid in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State, catching the criminals off guard.

This operation led to a fierce firefight, resulting in the neutralization of two terrorists and the recovery of various items, including an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and three motorcycles.
