Troops Rescue 31 Victims, Eliminate Five Terrorists

Troops from the Nigerian Army, under Operation Fansan Yamma, successfully eliminated five terrorists and rescued 31 abducted victims in Zamfara and Katsina states. The operation, coordinated by Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, involved precise air interdiction followed by ground assaults on terrorist enclaves located in the west Bagega forest.

The rescued individuals, who had been held captive for several weeks, were identified as indigenes from the local government areas of Maga, Gummi, Zuru, Wasugu, and Bukuyyum. They received medical attention and will be reunited with their families.

Additionally, troops engaged terrorists in Zamfara, neutralizing two more and destroying identified terrorist camps, recovering several local fabrics, rifles, and four motorcycles. In Katsina, troops intercepted a group of terrorists reportedly planning an imminent attack, neutralizing three and recovering motorcycles and ammunition.

The operation continues to apply pressure on terrorist elements across the northwest region.
