Army Rescues 92 Kidnapped Civilians in Borno State

On Saturday, the Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, led by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, successfully rescued 92 civilians abducted by Boko Haram along the Buratai Kamuya Road in Biu Local Government Area, Borno State. The operation involved the recovery of eight vehicles and the neutralization of three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted by the insurgents.

Following the discovery of the insurgents' location, a quick reaction force was deployed, which included troops from the 135 Special Forces Battalion and the 27 Task Force Brigade Garrison. The military engaged the insurgents, who abandoned their captives and fled towards the Mangari Dora area.

The operation resulted in the recovery of 52 males, 33 females, and 7 children, with no casualties reported among military personnel. The rescued civilians were provided immediate welfare support and escorted to Damaturu to continue their journey.

The military emphasized its capability to respond swiftly to insurgent attacks in the northeast.
