Army Rescues Two Kidnapped Bank Staff in Taraba State

The Nigerian Army conducted a successful rescue operation on Sunday, recovering two bank staff members, Mr. Marwan Abubakar, aged 40, and Mr.

Leng En Cakop, aged 37, who had been kidnapped in Zaki Biam, Ukum Local Government Area, Benue State. The operation was initiated following intelligence reports indicating the presence of terrorists in the area.

Lieutenant Ahmad Zubairu, who is part of the operation, stated that troops conducted an aggressive search and rescue mission aimed at locating the terrorists and ensuring the safe recovery of the victims. The troops thoroughly searched suspect houses in Gborgbor Village, Wukari Local Government Area, Taraba State, but initially found nothing unusual.

However, further intelligence led to an extended search operation around the settlement, which pressured the kidnappers to abandon their captives. The operation resulted in the recovery of a motorcycle used by the suspects along the route to Tse Anaka.

Major General Mose Gara commended the troops for their professional and swift response, emphasizing the importance of credible information in combating kidnapping activities.
