Soldiers Rescue Kidnap Victim, Arrest Two Suspects in Benue

On Thursday, soldiers from the operation known as Whirl Stroke rescued a 28-year-old woman, identified as Mr. Member Ityavb, who had been kidnapped in Tse Ubena Village, located in the Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.

The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Benue Civil Protection Guard following credible intelligence regarding kidnapping activities in the area. Lieutenant Ahmad Zubairu, the spokesperson for the operation, confirmed that the troops successfully rescued the victim and arrested two armed suspects, identified as Mbapa Mbabu and Gwer, from the local government area.

The troops conducted thorough searches and discovered an abandoned hideout used by the suspects. Major General Mose Gara, the commander of the Joint Task Force Operation Whirl Stroke, praised the troops for their prompt and professional response and reaffirmed the commitment of the task force to ensure security in the region, especially as the farming season approaches.
