Troops Rescue Kidnap Victims in Benue State Operation

On April 15, 2026, troops from the Joint Task Force, under the operation named "Whirl Stroke," executed a coordinated offensive in Benue State, specifically targeting bandit enclaves in the Kyado area of Ukum Local Government. This operation aimed to dismantle criminal networks in the region and was prompted by credible intelligence.

During the early morning raid, the troops successfully rescued two kidnap victims: Mr. Sylvest Micheal Ebuka, who was abducted on April 2, and Mr.

Chidinma Chikwentu, taken on April 6. Both victims were reported to be in stable condition after their recovery.

Lieutenant Ahmad Zubairu Zubairu, acting as the media informant for the Joint Task Force, credited the success of the mission to relentless operations and pressure on criminal elements.
