Troops Rescue Two Kidnapped Bank Workers in Taraba

In the early hours of Friday, troops rescued two bank workers who had been kidnapped in Taraba. The operation was conducted under the leadership of Lt. Ahmad Zubairu Sundai, following credible intelligence regarding the kidnappers' hideout in Gborgbor Village.

Initial searches yielded no results, but further intelligence prompted a reinforced operation that extended to neighboring settlements, including Tse Anaka Village. The troops intensified their efforts, applying sustained pressure that led the kidnappers to abandon their captives.

The rescued individuals were identified as Marwan Abubakar, aged 40, and Leng En Cakop, aged 37, both staff members of United Bank in Zaki Biam, Ukum Local Government Area, Benue State. Although the troops did not have direct contact with the fleeing kidnappers, they recovered a motorcycle used by the suspects along the route to Tse Anaka Village.

Major General Mose Gara commended the troops for their swift and professional response, emphasizing the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations in combating kidnapping activities.
