Nigerian Army Rescues Kidnapped Woman and Baby in Kogi

On a recent operation, troops from the Nigerian Army's 12 Brigade successfully rescued two kidnapped victims, a woman and her six-month-old baby, in Egb Yagba West Local Government Area, Kogi State. The incident occurred late Wednesday night when suspected terrorists invaded a residence near Solid Rock School in Ijalu, abducting the victims along with five other family members.

Upon receiving a distress call, Lt. Hassan Abdullahi, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 12 Brigade, reported that troops immediately mobilized in conjunction with members of Vigilant Group Nigeria to pursue the attackers along their escape route.

The combined security forces pressured the kidnappers, leading them to abandon the woman and infant near Oro Axi, where they were safely rescued. The search operation continues to locate the remaining abductees and apprehend the perpetrators.

This operation follows a previous successful counter-kidnapping effort on June 1, where troops rescued 23 passengers along Ayegunl Bunu Road in Kabba Bunu Local Government Area.
