Troops Rescue Mother and Infant from Kidnappers in Kogi

On June 3, 2023, troops from the 12 Brigade of the Nigerian Army rescued two kidnapping victims, including a six-month-old baby, in Kogi State. The incident occurred in Egb Yagba West Local Government Area when armed terrorists invaded a residence near Solid Rock School in the Ijalu area.

The attackers abducted five family members, including a woman and an infant. Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 12 Brigade, disclosed that troops acted promptly upon receiving a distress report about the attack.

They mobilized quickly in conjunction with members of the Vigilant Group Nigeria (VGN) to launch a pursuit operation along the kidnappers' escape route. The security team maintained pressure, forcing the kidnappers to abandon Mr.

Adekemi Idowu and the infant near Oro Axi. The rescued victims were safely returned to their residence.

The Nigerian Army continues its aggressive search operations to locate and rescue the remaining three abducted family members and is committed to tracking down the perpetrators.
