Arokodare Shines with Two Goals in Ajax's Victory
Tolu Arokodare showcased his skills with a two-goal, one-assist performance as Ajax defeated Midtjylland 6-1 at the MCH Arena. Arokodare opened the scoring in the ninth minute, capitalizing on a delivery from Oscar Gloukh.
Midtjylland equalized through Friday Etim, but Arokodare regained control after halftime, scoring again and assisting Owen Wijndal for Ajax's third goal. This match marked Arokodare's 12th goal and fourth assist in 16 appearances since joining Ajax on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
His impressive form comes at a crucial time as Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle prepares for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Tanzania on November 11 and 15. Arokodare's contributions as both a scorer and creator could earn him a spot in the squad, especially with Ajax having the option to make his loan permanent at the end of the season.
