Contractors Restart Benin-Sapele Road Work After Rain

Contractors have resumed work on the Benin-Sapele Road following a pause due to heavy rainfall that made conditions difficult. On Thursday, workers and machinery returned to the site, much to the relief of motorists, traders, and residents.
Governor Monday Okpebholo had previously stated that contractors working on road projects across the three senatorial districts would return as soon as the rains subsided. Benjamin Danjuma, Foreman of the Earth Moving Section, indicated that the rain had hindered progress, particularly at the preparatory stage.
Currently, workers are at the first level of the stone-base stage, which is essential for the road's foundation. After this, they will proceed to the stabilization stage, followed by the final concrete layer.
Local residents, including Abdulmalik Usman and trader Joy Obosheya, expressed their satisfaction with the government's efforts to rehabilitate the road, noting improvements in accessibility and business conditions.
