Martin Ødegaard, currently with Arsenal FC, has been named the captain of the Norway national football team for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. The 26-man squad, announced by Harald V, features a strong lineup including talents like Erling Haaland and Sander Tangvik, the latter receiving a surprising call-up due to the injury of Mathias Dyngeland.

The squad also includes players from various clubs such as Sevilla, Watford, and Borussia Dortmund. Norway's World Cup campaign is set to begin against Iraq on June 16, followed by matches against Senegal and France in the group stage of the tournament, which will take place from June 11 to July 19 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
