Quadri Aruna Faces Eighth Straight WTT Defeat

Quadri Aruna suffered his eighth straight defeat in the World Table Tennis (WTT) series, losing 3-0 to Félix Lebrun of France during the round of 32 at the WTT Champion event held in Chongqing, China, on Tuesday. The match saw the 19-year-old Lebrun overpower Aruna with set scores of 11-5, 11-6, and 11-3.

This loss means that Aruna remains winless in the WTT series, with his last victory dating back to September 2025, when he defeated China's Huang Youzheng in the round of 16. This encounter marked the fourth meeting between the two players, with Aruna having lost all four matches against the Frenchman.

Prior to this, Aruna had also faced a challenging month, suffering a 4-1 defeat to world number one Wang Chuqin and exiting the ITTF Africa Cup in February after losing to Algeria's Mehdi Bouloussa. He is set to face Japan's Yukiya Uda in the next round.
