Quadri Aruna to Lead Nigeria's 2026 ITTF Africa Cup Quest in Libya

Nigerian table tennis champion Quadri Aruna is set to lead Nigeria's quest to reclaim the ITTF Africa Cup in 2026, scheduled to be held in Libya. The tournament will mark Libya's first time hosting the prestigious continental table tennis event.

Aruna will be joined by other Nigerian players like Omotayo Olajide, Fatimo Bello, and Ajoke Ojomu in the men's and women's singles events. The reigning champions, Egyptian stars Omar Assar and Hana Goda, will defend their titles in the men's and women's categories, respectively.

The competition will serve as a qualifier for the 2026 ITTF World Cup, with the African Table Tennis Federation collaborating with the International Table Tennis Federation for the event hosted by the Libyan Table Tennis Federation at the Al Nasr Sport Club Benghazi. The tournament will witness fierce competition between Aruna and his rivals, including Assar and rising star Youssef Abdelaziz.

Women's event favorites like Goda, Mariam Alhodabi, and Dina Meshref will also vie for the coveted title.
