Turaki Faction Bows to Wike's PDP, Eyes 2027 Elections

The Tanimu Turaki-led faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has shown signs of capitulation to Nyesom Wike's faction, as they explore peaceful resolutions to their leadership disputes. Turaki revealed that his group is willing to sacrifice their court case against Wike's camp to foster unity within the party.

This development emerged on Wednesday, with Turaki acknowledging the need for reconciliation to avoid further strife and to prepare for the upcoming elections. Wike's faction has reportedly gained significant influence, with indications that Turaki's faction may endorse Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign for 2027.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has aligned with Turaki's faction, expressing support for Tinubu's second-term bid. Despite ongoing court cases, Turaki's camp is prepared to withdraw their legal challenges in favor of peace, emphasizing that the PDP will not dissolve and must present a united front for future elections.
