Ashiru Advocates Integrity and Teamwork in Nigerian Leadership

Ashiru articulated that Nigeria's leadership is lacking in reputation and integrity, which are essential assets for effective governance. He stressed the importance of teamwork, consultation, and humility in leadership, arguing that decisions should not be based on personal interests but rather on the benefit of the people.

Ashiru noted that trust is built on integrity, which influences every decision and determines whether leaders keep their promises. He called for a return to strong values, honesty, discipline, and accountability to combat corruption.

Furthermore, he highlighted the role of communication in governance, urging leaders to be proactive in addressing misinformation, especially in the age of social media. Ashiru mentioned the Masterclass initiative, which aims to educate young professionals and decision-makers on best practices in leadership.

Emeka Anyaoku, a veteran diplomat and former Commonwealth Secretary-General, is involved in this initiative, which seeks to shape better leadership in Nigeria.
