Asian Champions League Matches Postponed Amid Crisis

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced the postponement of four first-leg matches in the Round of 16 of the Asian Champions League due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East. The matches, originally scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, involved clubs from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Iran.

The AFC stated that it would continue to monitor the rapidly evolving situation to ensure the safety and security of players, teams, officials, and fans. The postponement comes in light of heightened tensions following attacks between the United States and Iran, which have impacted the region, including the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

Affected matches include Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia traveling to Qatar to face Al Duhail, and Shabab Al Ahli of the UAE hosting Tractor FC from Iran. Other matches scheduled for Tuesday included Al Sadd of Qatar against Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia and Al Wahda of the UAE hosting Al Ittihad.
