Emir Sanusi Urges Governor Yusuf to Assert Authority

Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II advised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to assert greater authority in response to unrest in Kano State. This advice was given during a traditional post-Sallah visit, where Sanusi highlighted the importance of justice and the need for the governor to take firmer action against those disrupting the administration.

He referenced the Quran to illustrate that justice cannot survive without strength. Sanusi praised the governor's initiatives in education, healthcare, and welfare programs but cautioned against showing undue respect to individuals deemed undeserving.

He expressed concern that the governor's perceived patience could lead to further unrest, urging him to ensure that anyone who disobeys the law faces consequences. The Emir noted that the audience's reaction indicated broad public support for a firmer approach.

Governor Yusuf thanked the Emir and apologized for canceling the Hawan Daushe event to prevent violence during the Eid celebrations, assuring that he fears no one except Allah.
