Sanusi Urges Governor Yusuf to Assert Leadership in Kano

Muhammad Sanusi II, the Emir of Kano, advised Governor Yusuf to assert his authority and demonstrate stronger leadership in the face of public perception that he is overly patient. Sanusi emphasized that true leadership combines justice and respect for dignity, warning against honoring individuals who do not deserve it.

He noted that such actions could lead to arrogance and a lack of respect from the populace. Sanusi's remarks came during a post-Eid Sallah homage, where he encouraged Governor Yusuf to let the people know that he is someone who obeys the law and promotes peace.

In response, Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude to the Emir Council and apologized for canceling the hawan daush procession, explaining that the decision was made to avoid violence during the celebrations. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the people of Kano, recalling past violent incidents during public events.
