ASUP Calls for End to HND Discrimination and Creation of Polytechnic Commission

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) is advocating for the elimination of discrimination against Higher National Diploma (HND) holders and the establishment of a national Polytechnic Commission to oversee the sector. ASUP's President highlighted the need for a dedicated body similar to those overseeing universities and colleges.

The union also emphasized the importance of updating salary structures and consolidating academic pay scales. The call was made during ASUP's 18th National Delegates Conference held in Plateau State, where the theme focused on trade union management and the evolving role of labor leaders.
