ASUU-AFUSTA Threatens Strike Over Unresolved Issues

The ASUU-AFUSTA chapter at Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology in Aliero, Kebbi State, has issued a warning of a potential strike if the state government does not address a fresh set of demands. The union's chairman, Dr.

Musa Isah Fakai, highlighted the growing frustration among academic staff due to persistent neglect of their welfare and unresolved labor issues. The union has raised concerns regarding the non-implementation of an approved remuneration package for university lecturers, the non-payment of earned academic allowances dating back to 2014, and the backlog of unpaid promotion arrears.

Additionally, the union criticized the government's failure to implement annual salary increments for its members. Dr.

Fakai warned that if the government fails to meet these demands, the union would not hesitate to take necessary steps to protect the welfare of its members.
