Gov Otu Celebrates Ita-Giwa's 80th Birthday Tribute

On the occasion of Senator Florence Ita-Giwa's 80th birthday, Cross River State Governor Senator Bassey Edet Otu paid tribute to her, describing her as a "lighthouse of courage" who has significantly influenced the destiny of the people of Cross River. In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Linu Obogo, Otu highlighted Ita-Giwa's decades of public service and her resilience in Nigeria's political landscape.

He acknowledged her steadfast advocacy, particularly regarding the Bakassi affair, and her role as a moral sentinel defending vulnerable women against human trafficking. Otu also referenced the honors bestowed upon Ita-Giwa, including the Officer of the Order of Nigeria (OON), as a reflection of her dedication to service.
