In Japan, Tinubu Salutes Nigerian Military’s Momentum Against Insecurity

President Bola Tinubu praised Nigeria's military efforts against insecurity, calling it a crucial step towards national development and stability. Speaking at the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Japan, Tinubu emphasized the government's commitment to addressing the root causes of insecurity and strengthening security apparatus.

He highlighted the bravery of the Nigerian Armed Forces in combating insurgency and criminality, urging for continued support and cooperation. Tinubu also stressed the importance of inclusivity, diversity, and the rule of law in achieving peace and stability.

Additionally, he called for international support for Nigeria's campaign to reform the United Nations Security Council for fair representation of African countries. Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba emphasized mutual understanding and collaborative efforts for Africa's sustainable growth, youth and women empowerment, and regional integration.

Ishiba also highlighted the challenges Japan faces with a declining population and shrinking agricultural land, seeking cooperation from African countries.
