ATBUTH Clarifies Inclusion In Federal Subsidised Kidney Dialysis

Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) in Bauchi clarified its inclusion in the Federal Subsidised Kidney Dialysis management program. The hospital has been providing the service since January 8, 2025, contrary to a report that omitted it from the list of approved facilities.

According to the head of the Public Relations Protocol Unit, Usman Abdullahi Koli, 897 patients have benefited from the intervention, with consumables included in the approved rate per session. ATBUTH Bauchi has also implemented a free Cesarean Section program since November 2024, providing surgery, care, medication, and treatment to mothers and newborns.

The hospital is part of the National Emergency Medical Service Ambulance System (NEMSAS) and has provided free emergency care to 500 patients within 48 hours of launch. ATBUTH Bauchi remains committed to improving healthcare and supporting the Federal Government's efforts in this regard.
