Atiku, Amaechi, Hayatu-Deen Obtain ADC Presidential Forms

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, Rotimi Amaechi, the ex-Minister of Transport, and Moham Hayatu-Deen have expressed their interest in the presidency by obtaining nomination forms from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at a cost of N90 million each. This event took place on a Saturday, as confirmed by Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC's national secretary.

Hayatu-Deen received his form from Chinedu Idigo, the party's national organizing secretary. The ADC has stated that its focus for the 2027 elections will be on restoring economic stability and improving national security, addressing the hardships and insecurity that Nigerians face.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the presidential and national assembly elections for January 16, 2027, with gubernatorial and state house assembly elections set for February 6, 2027. Party primaries are to resolve disputes between April 23 and May 30, 2026, while campaign activities will commence on August 19, 2026, for presidential elections and September 9, 2026, for gubernatorial elections.
